It’s gift-giving season again!
But what if you don’t know what to give the person you got for the Christmas party? What if you don’t have time to shop? Or worse, what if you forgot that you actually had to give a present to someone? Well, cash or equivalent monetary value is always a safe gift for any occasion!
Of course, you don’t want to seem like it was a last minute thing – even though it might actually be. But no worries! Adding a little pizzazz can make the difference between a sucky gift and a rushed-but-well-thought-of one so here are some ideas on how to give money as a present.
#1. Gift Cards
The best thing about gift cards is that while you didn’t know what exactly to get, it shows that you took time to think of a place where the recipient would most likely enjoy. At least they can get something they really want, right?
#2 Game on!
Who says gift giving has to be boring? Gamify your present and see everyone have fun! You can stock up on coins and do it piñata-style, come up with a contest and give out cash as prizes, or if you’re feeling a little extra, prepare a scavenger hunt to a treasure chest filled with bills! While the money is your actual gift, they’ll definitely remember the experience so much more!
#3. Get creative
If you have no choice than to give cash for whatever reason, at least be creative about it and show some effort. Create a cake tower made of paper bills, place some cash and candies inside giant socks, or put them inside balloons! The opportunities are endless and there are lots of fun ideas online, why don’t you try them out?
#4. Be personal
When all else fail, you can do it the old-school way and personalize. Don’t just settle for giving cold, hard cash. Soften it down with a heartfelt letter or a sweet little note. Surely your recipient will appreciate it!
Sometimes, all it takes is a little extra push to make money-giving feel like an actual present instead of simply handing over a few bills. While money is money, the effort that you put into making a person feel special and loved counts more and is worth more than any amount you could ever give.
