3 New Year Must-Haves for a Better You
As most people say at the turn of every year - “New Year, New Me!” Of course, while we all still remain the same at our cores, every new year marks a new start and more opportunities to become better. This is probably why the tradition of coming up with New Year’s Resolutions has continuously been one of the most exciting part of every January 1st.
But whatever your goal for 2019 is, you must have the right tools to help you achieve them:
Must-have #1: Planner or Journal
Improve your organizational skills and see your life (and yourself, in the process) become better! Whether you’re the type to collect coffee shop stickers for the planner or someone who simply likes to choose minimalist journals in bookstores, these will definitely help a lot when it comes to sorting out your schedules and cataloging plans. Avoid being double-booked for an event again and actually plan your vacations for a much needed break!
Going Extra: Why not try to channel your inner creative and hop in on the trend of Bullet Journaling? Your planner would not only be cheaper but it would also have the most “you” personality. You can even customize it to your heart’s content!
Must-have #2: Post-Its and Sticky Notes
Perfect for those forgetful people who often have things slip off their mind. Utilize and place them in strategic areas so that you can be constantly aware of important things you have to remember. It may be a serious matter such as a lunch meeting with the boss or a personal one like a reminder to breathe or drink 8 glasses of water a day.
Going Extra: You can also use these as a place to scribble down your daily random thoughts or potential ideas that you can develop later on. Better have it written when you’re in the zone than to just let it be forgotten eventually.
Must-have #3: Financial Tracker
Be more financially wise this year and try to manage your money. Create a tracker and take note of your income, expenses, and savings so that you have an overview of your finances. This will allow you to easily adjust your budgeting especially when you’ve been overspending - whether consciously or not. Lastly, you can also project the dates when you’ll be needing to apply for cash loans based on your records. Think ahead!
Going Extra: While you’re already tracking your inflows and outflows, push yourself further with the numerous saving challenges around. Feel free to tailor fit it to what you want to achieve by the end of the year and adjust your savings increment or rate depending on what you’re comfortable with.
No better time like the present, right? Every new year presents you with 365 days of chances to take and improve on yourself so you better make each one of them count!
